Strasbourg Circle

The Strasbourg Circle was created by a group of globally conscious students from a conference held in Strasbourg, France in March of 2009. The members on this site were participants in that very conference. Held by Brethren Colleges Abroad (BCA) the conference had an original question in mind: Will Obama make a difference? As a group, we heard many panels and lectures from specialists and professionals in academic and political fields.

The topics of discussion fostered a truly diverse discussion among students and professionals who represent countries from Europe and North America. We all enjoyed the discussions so much, we decided to continue them in an online forum. Thus, the Strasbourg Circle was made to enable our communications to broaden in scope and to extent our messages of diversity and tolerance to more students in the world, beyond this one conference. At the conference we realized that conversation could truly make a difference in our relationships with one another as students, friends, and citizens of differing countries. That is our purpose: to continue talking in order to gain an understanding of one another.

Use this site to do so. With all tools at your fingertips, you can post photos, videos, blogs and much more. Enjoy.
